| Posted: | | | | I have recently encountered a problem when providing updated profiles. I did not change the Release Date, but when contributing, a check box for the release date appears, as if the release date had been removed. In all such cases, I did not check the box, since I did not want to remove the exisiting information. After accceptance of the profiles, and the release thereof, when I get the updated profiles, the date appears to have been removed anyway, so that I need to lock the field, or not accept the update.
Has anybody else experienced similar problems? | | | Hans |

If you want to accept only part of the update then you can preview the changes and just tick which fields to accept | | | Paul |

If you want to accept only part of the update then you can preview the changes and just tick which fields to accept I know. The point is that the data should not have been modified in the first place, since I did not: (1) make a change, or (2) check the box, when I uploaded the update. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | Are you sure there wasn't another contribution for the same title that removed the release date? The update you download can be a compound of several contributions, unless I'm totally mistaken. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | I might have thought so, if this happened only once. But I have seen this about ten times in the last couple of weeks. I am not quite sure, but I am tempted to say, that it happened in every one of my recent contributions. Also, I already notice this when making the contribution. Although I did not change the release date, a checkbox appears, with the release date in the old profile, but not in the "new". | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | It appears this problem still persists.
I just contributed a new profile for a future release. I put in the release date of course, since that is probably the most relevant part of the data at this moment.
The profile was accepted, and made available for download. When I compared before accepting, the online profile's release date appeared to be empty. Since this was a new profile, I did not check any boxes of course.
Could someone check the online data, because the error could be in the local comparison I guess? Profile concerned is 043396237254. | | | Hans |

(Roxy Hunter) only production year 2008 | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. I'll try to upload again, and see what happens. Unfortunately, since this is not a new release anymore, that will take about a week. (Release is 15/7/2008) | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | I just uploaded a dozen new profiles, and guess what?
Nine of the new profiles are now in the database (took only a few minutes by the way) without a release date. My local has the release dates still since I did not accept the "update". I can of course re-upload, but this recurring error may give cause to loss of data.
Anyone else notice this behaviour? (Also with exisitng profiles see above). | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | what operating system are you running? Is it a localized version (English, Dutch, ...) How are your international settings set?: Mine are for XP, Dutch: Country Settings: Nederlands (België) (should be Nederlands (Nederland) Location: België (should be Nederland) Nederlands (Nederland) [Aanpassen..] Datum: Kalender: 1930 en 2029 Korte datumnotatie Stijl korte notaie: d/MM/jjjj Datumscheidingsteken: / Lange datumnotaite Stijl lange notatie: dddd d MMMM jjjj
DVD Profiler settings Defaults: Region: 2 Locality: Netherlands
are you entering the dates by keyboard? like 23/03/2004 or are you using the arrow down in DVD Release? (calendar) | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | I use Vista (international English version) with European (Dutch) settings for the date and measurements. For entering the dates, I use the calendar. My DVD Profiler default setting would be US (most of my DVD's are from there). Maybe that's the problem... I will experiment (tomorrow).
The current problem 9 out of 12, appeared to be linked particularly to profiles with locality Netherlands. Also, the dates are not on a Tuesday like in the US.
Thanks for the suggestions. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe they were deleted?
The database is very very big on "all data must come from the DVD only," well release date cannot, it has to come from a third party source, so if you say you got it from a third party source, it gets declined... so maybe they deleted release dates that corresponded to a specific third party database?
Just a guess. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

Just a guess. There is more to it than that. What also happens is that when exisiting profiles with a release data are updated but without offering any change to the release date, on uploading a check box appears next to the release date, with an empty field. I obviously don't check that box, but then when the new profile is offered for downloading a week later, the date has disappeared anyway. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | Surely the browser is not responsible for comparing the existing database with a new entry? It must be something in DVDP, and an inconsistency in the date format may be the cause, as you pointed out. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not shure, as when you update the profile and upload, you get a blank changed release date with a checkbox to contribute? Could be a local issue on your computer? Have you access to another computer in your location? See if you have the same problem with the same profile. That if the settings did not solve the issue. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted.
