I'm about to add "The Final Destination in 3D", but I'm not 100% sure what's disc 1 and what's disc 2. Since the DVD is called "The Final Destination in 3D", I suppose the 3D version should be the main feature, but I thought I'd ask to be sure.

The other DVD is the normal DVD with bonus features and the full normal movie. The 3D DVD only contains the movie in 3D and no bonus features.

What do you guys and girls think?

As it's being marketed as "The Final Destination in 3D", I would say that the 3D version takes priority.

Does the cover not list them in Disc order or anything?

No disc order, but the normal DVD is in the place I'd expect disc 1 to be. And the 3D DVD has the same name on it as the cover, but the normal DVD has the name "The Final Destination".

Another thing; when I get the disc IDs, the 3D has D2 in the end of the code, and the normal DVD has a D1 at the end.

If at all possible, I always profile the release as it is being marketed, so I agree with this.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Sorry if this is absolute wrong but why not adding both discs as Main feature?

Or for what purpose do you need the information?

Edit: My vote is going for 3D as Disc1 and 3D as Disc2 based on the disc ids.

Guess you mean 2D for disc 1 and 3D for disc 2, both called main feature.

I could use:
1: Main feature (2D)
2: Main feature (3D)

... or the other way around. I agree it would feel most correct using the name on the cover as disc 1, but disc 1 is actually the bonus disc.

If this had been a bluray with a DVD copy, the cover would tell me what is disc 1 even if the DVD bonus disc is called disc 1 in the disc ID.

Oops, typo.  Yep this is what I wanted to say.

Your disc description would be imho ok.

Here is what makes the 3D version tha main feature... 1) the release is meant for 3D viewing.  2) the release is in Blu-ray, which is, IMHO, considered the main disc of a two disc release. 3) A separate Blu-ray non-3D version is available, again making the 3D version more special.

These combo pack releases are a royal pain-in-the-butt.

Why do you think it's the BluRay-release?

It's a DVD release, but it could seem like a Blu-ray since I just called them 3D version and normal DVD version.

  • It's a 2 disc special edition with a 3D DVD and a 2D DVD.

  • The edition is called "The Final Destination in 3D".

  • On the first disc position in the cover is the 2D version and in spot 2 is the 3D version.

  • 2D version disc ID ends with D1, and the 3D disc ID ends with D2. I guess this is because it's the same DVD they use for all editions, and it's mostly used as disc 1.

  • I'm just putting the 3D first since it's all changable later. I think the 2D version is a bonus disc, so I'll add it as such.

Then Amazon.com has it marked wrong in their database.

What makes you think it has to be the US release?

  • Is that really significant?  Depending on who loaded the discs into the "hopper" would determine which disc went where.  I don't know of any industry standard that says the left disc has to be the "main" disc.

Good point.  Even without it being a Blu-ray release, the marketing of it as a 3D release, to me, is the main reason that the 3D disc is the main feature.  If you didn't want the 3D at all, you should have purchased the cheaper (I suspect) single disc DVD release (you being the general consumer).
