I’ve just been auditing Show Me Love.  The existing information in the database lists 62 people as Extras in the cast credits.  In the end credits from the film they're listed after the crew credits, which themselves are after the cast credits; (in other words the list of extras is in a totally separate place to all the named, main actors).  However, what the actual end credits say (when translated from Swedish by Google) is “thanks to all the extras” followed by the list of names.  So are these cast credits or not?  Discuss?

Thanks.  Paul
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

Extras are cast.  I would put them under an appropriate divider.

I agree that they're cast, but none that I'd generally track in my local db.  IMO, "extras" are usually just set dressing.

Don't see any reason why they wouldn't be cast.

They are cast, but can be cast out.

In other words, I don't think there is a requirement to strive for this level of completeness.

Staid is correct...with one caveat.  While you don't have to enter them, if they are already there, you can't remove them.  You can from your local, but because they are allowed by the rules, you can't from the on-line.

Thank you.  (By the way, I wouldn’t dream of removing them without a good reason, especially considering the amount of work that went into typing them all in to start with.)

This DVD has an existing profile with the most mistakes in it that I’ve come across so far!  It looks like the information had mostly been mined from IMDB at some point too.

Using the same logic, we may as well list stuntmen in the cast list.

Funnily I do this already (locally only, of course) for "Stunt Performers".

I find it very strange that some people don't seem to have any problems in copying unverified uncredited cast, but hit the ceiling when they are asked if a credited appearance should be listed in DVDProfiler.

(General comment, not aimed at a single person!)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Well there's no rule against it...

I can't resist, this yet another manifestation of those who possess the mystical ability to determine what is and is not cast. Are they part of the cast list for the film...based on the OPs comments they are not and are in fact separated from the cast. Therefore they are NOT cast, no matter how many seances are held. Stunt men are factually closer to cast than these [eople  BUT we do not at this time include/ Put away the Magic 8 Balls.

Laugh all you want, but these people are credited so they are credited cast.

They are most certainly Cast and can be credited as such per invelos rules.
