Ah... that will be it; my phone is 2.2 (Galaxy S) - I just assumed compatibility as was certainly mentioned in the Devices thread. Thanks for thie info, at least now I know!

I hope to get an S4 soon and it will probably be easier just to wait until I do given this situation... shame; wanted to show my support ASAP but my phone is apparently incompatible and for my tablet I'm still waiting on Amazon... 

Installed on my Droidx 2.3.4 and Asus Transformer 4.2.1, and very slick on both.

Sync was from PC Windows Home Server 2011. Took about 30 min for 800 profiles over Wi-fi N, strong signal. Those people complaining of slow updates should make sure that they are getting the best signal and highest wi-fi speed they can configure. I synched both devices concurrently.

For those experiencing inabilty to synch via PC, you might need to set an Incoming TCP port in your windows firewall. This is the first time I have needed to do that, but when I did, both devices became unstuck and started blasting the update. I used default port 32847.

Yea, I have never had to open ports for the phone before but I had to add a rule in Nortons to allow it.

That seems to have been causing all my issues with PC sync. Not to just figure out why I am not getting thumbnails.

Well all hope isn't lost yet.    Several other members have asked for DPA to work with 2.2.  Ken mentioned he narrowed down the compatibility issues to two external libraries and would make an attempt to try and make it compatible for the next build but no guarantees.

Thanks for the info; however I think I'll use the issue as a reason to get off my lazy arse and get down to the Vodafone shop for a new phone

another little thing I noticed. The whole app works in both portrait and landscape mode EXCEPT the update screen. It'll flip over to portrait mode.

The reviews for your phone suggest it's good for "lightweight apps" rather than heavy duty stuff. Looking at the CPU useage figures for profiler on my tablet it seems to require quite a lot at startup but settles down to a reasonable useage once running.

Does your phone have a developer option tab under settings and does it allow you to turn on cpu useage stastics under that tab?
