I think any such assignment should be purely a local call, should an age field be added...sure why not, there are those who might want to use it. But purely locally, not Contributable, the data at hand is either Unrated or NR, we can go no further. While i think comparing Dora to Harold and Kumar is a bit extreme I do understand it, polar opposites in fact, but how about something that is not quite such a polar opposite, how about Unrated Harold and Kumar versus NR Dogma, they are essentially the same and no other information is provided. I definitely feel it should be...
NR = as it is now

I agree. The point I was making however, is that there is no such data typically accompanying an NR or Unrated title, therefore if such data is included it has to be of necessity a local ONLY field. I would not want you or any other user being allowed to set the age limit based some unknown set of standards applied by them, nor would i even consider imposing my own standards on any other user. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

I am not sure how you would program it but, because there are 'R' rated films that become 'Unrated', it would have to be set higher than 'R'...but lower than 'adult'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.

As far as DVD are concerned, I do not pay any attention to the ratings. They are not allowed to watch any of my DVDs unless I have seen them first and feel they are appropriate. |
