OK... I am thrilled... was easy to set up... and I no longer need to write html for each profile... and no longer a need to make thumbnail images the way I was!

Thanks again xyrano!... really appreciate it!

First, it seems that if the UPC starts with a 0, that 0 gets truncated in the path to the image. For instance, Star Wars: Episode 1..

Was this already fixed? because the first thing I did was convert Thir13en Ghosts and the upc if it is 085392208326 and it worked perfectly for me!

And to think I originally came back to this thread to ask about a problem with titles with a colon in the name since windows don't allow you to write file names with colons.... and with this version... it is already solved!... Awesome!

I think I've found two problems.

First, it seems that if the UPC starts with a 0, that 0 gets truncated in the path to the image. For instance, Star Wars: Episode 1..

The UPC is 024543023876, but, it's looking for the picture in "[...]/DVD%20Profiler/Databases/Default/images/gallery/24543023876/00.jpg"

Second, I don't know why, but in my Star Wars Trilogy boxset (the original one), I don't get the message "No Gallery Available!", I just get the header "Star Wars Trilogy, Image Gallery" with nothing. Doesn't change a thing wether I put the <gallery=#> or not.

Thanks for testing it. I don't know why it gets truncated if it starts with 0. Maybe the DP_UPC variable is better!? Change to that one instead. I should have used DP_UPC from the beginning (script updated). Maybe that clears the Star Wars Trilogy problem too

Well... that answers that question!

I realy like this...
But i'm not good with HTML.
Is there a way that this feature can be downloaded as a plug-in exe file ?

You don't need to be good with HTML. Just do this:

VIEW -> HTML Windows -> Edit...

Then right-click the left pane and choose New...

Name it whatever you wish (Gallery sounds nice )

Then come here, and select the whole thing in the quote in Xyrano's post and press CTRL-C on your keyboard.

Go back to Profiler, click inside the right pane (where you see the minimalist HTML code automatically generated) and type CTRL-A and the CTRL-V.

Voila! Just click OK to close this window, and from the main DVD Profiler window, go to VIEW -> HTML Windows and you should see your new window listed there. Click it, and it'll appear.

Ok, thanks...

You're fast!!!

Was just going to [post myself, that DP_UPC works... (I just looked up how it was done for the EPGs....)

Great job, xyrano! Thank you very much for this! ...and of course to you too, Pete, as you got the ball rolling.

Hehe, yea I'm watching you guys, closely!!!

So, is the SW Tri problem gone too?

Just to confirm, I may have done something wrong checking that... Either way, using DP_UPC works like a charm now

I noticed you have some nice "JavaScript magic" in there... I love it.

WOW, I actually made Addicted2DVD a happier man

It was my pleasure!

[NOTE]
This time I didn't code in the locality option (4 some reason or the other ), so since DP_UPC includes locality, the folders must also reflect that.

xyrano, since you obviously know much more than me about JavaScript, do you vaguely know what I meant above, about the pre-loading of the images into an array, which therefore allows you to check the size and determine if all images in a folder have been loaded...?

I see two advantages:
1. We don't really have to count for each folder how many images are there and set the number in the votes.
2. We could actually use another tag, which is easier to maintain than the Notes...

Man! This is developing almost as fast as the thread at IVS when Invelos when down!

Yes, the Star Wars Trilogy problem was fixed too by using the DP_UPC variable

Yeah you did!

And for the record... locality is no problem for me since it isn't attached to the R1 upc's!

Thanks again.... awesome work!

Actually, it is! You just happen to have mostly/all US locality stuff

If you have locality Canada it becomes: 123456654321.3
If you have locality Canada(Quebec), it becomes: 123456654321.19

make a gallery folder... you have to tell the code you put into it where it is. Inside the Gallery folder you put a folder for each profile you want a gallery for. Naming the folder the UPC of that profile it is for. Then in notes section of the profile you put in <gallery=#> #=number of images in that folder.

No html needed

I stand corrected... not sure... don't think I have anything not R1 US locality... so I should be cool anyway!

Ok, if you copied the above script as-is, then you go back to VIEW -> HTML Windows -> Edit..., and then click on the gallery on the left pane, you will see the code on the right. Scroll down and you should see this line
Quote:

var gsl = "E:\\DVD Profiler\\Gallery\\" + DP_UPC;

What this says is that it's looking for the images in the E:\DVD Profiler\Gallery\<UPC_Number\ folder.

Now, you have two choices. You can either create the folder there (not very practical), or, change the line to
Quote:

var gsl = DP_ProgramPathDatabase + "gallery\\" + DP_UPC;

Which would mean it would look for the gallery stuff in the currently opened database's folder under the gallery folder. By default, this folder would be (on Windows XP anyway)

C:\Documents and Settings\<YourUsername>\My Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\Default\gallery\<UPCNumber>

Change <YourUsername> to your Windows login username
Change <UPCNumber> for the UPC of the movie for which you have a gallery

Once you've done that, you select the movie you want in DVD Profiler, and add <gallery=1> to the notes section (Personalize data).

This should remove the "No Gallery Available!" message, and replace it with a standard IE image not found square. At this point, this is good.

Now, just create the folder under gallery for the UPC (menu DVD -> Change UPC is great to select the UPC easily) and copy your pictures to this new folder. You need to rename the picture sequentially (00.jpg, 01.jpg, 02.jpg, etc.).

Then, once you know how many pictures you have, just go back to the note, and change the <gallery=1>, to however many files you have.

That should do it. Rinse and repeat for other movies.

Xyrano:

Any chance for what Ya-Shin is proposing (except the tag stuff)?

It would be nice if the script would just load every image in the folder, instead of having to rename them and/or specify how many there is.
