If you have the original E-Mail containing your registration information from Invelos, try using the information provided in that to activate your account. If that doesn't work, PM Ken Cole.

first name: my real name
last name: did not enter a last name
key: that number
so not my username on this site in combination with the key

Ken will sort it out for you. It sounds like an account registration problem though. Five months is a long time between visits. It is amazing what you can forget in five months.

if i check "my registration" it says

There are no program registration keys on this account.
  Get a new registration key
  Update a DVD Profiler 2.x or earlier key

but my key is for versions 3.x so that won't work
Well I wait for a PM replie from Ken. See what he comes up with.

Can I ask - when you run the program and type in your registration information and click OK, what happens?

OK, it sounds like the program is registered fine, it's just getting it to match up with your username.
Could you try this please?
Sign Out
Click Sign In, but don't use your username to sign in. Instead, click on the "Click Here" inside the Have a Registration Key? box and try signing in with your registration details instead.
If it lets you sign in it should take you to a screen where it lets you choose a username and password. What username is filled in?
If it's blank, try filling in your Jack_Bauer details, hopefully it'll let you use them.
