For the record, I don't really hate you, but I do hate about 99% of the uncredited cast listings.

Uncredited means exactly that.  They were not listed in the credits...anywhere in the credits.  It has nothing to do with pay or residuals.  Those are based on the individual contract.

There are any number of reasons for (uncredited).

For example, Tom Cruise wasn't always TOM CRUISE, at some point in his career he was hey you, kid
Or perhaps an actor decided, for whatever reason to be credited under an alias.

In many movies, if not most (even today) IF EVERYONE was listed who appeared On Screen the list would be OUTRAGEOUS. Take for example, my sole movie appearance in Tank, the crowd scene at the end involved somewhere just shy of 1000 people. Besides contractual agreements the filmmakers decide who gets an On Screen and who doesn't by whatever criteria they choose to apply, and yes even my "invisible"(unless you know what I looked like 20 or 30 years ago) role had a billing clause in my contract...just in case.
