LOL, try and overrule Sony, Schultzy That is a lovely theory, but trust me, Sony rules the roost. NOT anyone else. I am well aware of the composition of the committee and I also know who runs the show. You too have much too learn about the Force.

More information surfaces....

"Sleeping Beauty" Blu-ray Disc also features the original Super Technirama 70 (similar to CinemaScope) 2.55:1 widescreen format for the first time since its intiial theatrical release, a restored hi-def print, and 7.1 HD sound sourced from the original recording tapes found in Germany. The two-disc set will also include a new picture-in-picture commentary by Pixar's John Lasseter, Andreas Deja and Leonard Maltin.

That sounds like an awesome commentary.  They're all very knowledgeable and interesting people and I predict the commentary will be outstanding.

It's really too bad I have no intention of picking that one up.  But I might just have to rent it someday.

Does anybody really want to send email and video clips while they're in the middle of watching a movie?  The technology sounds neat and all, but when I'm watching a movie, I'm watching a movie.  I must be missing something.

Just like a real theatre, people can talk in the middle of the movie.

First they had online content for DVDs (computer required), then HD DVD, now BD Live... It's all crap.

I agree - its all complete garbage. Who would ever want to have online chats in the middle of a movie.. and of course everybody would need their own copy of the movie..

Marketing gimic and hopefully this BD Live rubbish will die an early death.

If they want to increase market penetration get rid of the region coding for good (and yes that includes crappy fox titles that use it I believe.)

but its always been known that the players can't be updated except for the PS3?

I don't own Sleeping Beauty as of yet,, and My boycott of BD isn't over yet,, so the question arises amongst all these posts here in this thread.., Does the Oct. release include a Standard release edition version as well, as for the idea of hooking up to the Internet to use BD live..,  who cares?

According to this Video Business article Disney is going to releasing all their BD with BD Live starting with Sleeping Beauty. The features are going to be "in-movie chatting, personalized video messaging, online gaming and e-commerce features." Releases from Disney owned ABC, Touchstone and Miramax may or may not have BD Live on their releases, since Disney is not requiring them to do this.

When I read these so-called "features", I can't help but wonder: what happened to actually watching the movie?
