| Posted: | | | | This is not local, because the online database gets to be changed... Another problem of course is that this happens often, but not all the time. When I reuploaded the new profiles with just the release date change for example, that went okay. This makes it difficult to check, and experimentation with contributions is of course not advisable!
Anyway, from the reactions, I see that nobody else experiences this, so I'll just play around with some settings. The only similarity with other problems that I note is that occasionally image contributions do not "stick", although recently I haven't heard much about that. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | You said it doesn't occur everytime. Does it only happen when the day of the month is greater than 12? |

I obviously don't check that box So this explains why the database is not changed. You present the release date for change to the online database. For some reason the data returned don't show up in your internet browser (release date) and you don't mark the release date for confirmation that you want to change this date in the online database (blank field). So the online database release date is never changed as you do not confirm the release data for update. the only questions remains: What does the online database receives for release date? What goes out as release date to your contribution browser page? Why does your internet browser not display the release date if it receives the date back for confirmationSo i am affraid only Ken can help you out with this problem. You have to contact him with details of the profile you did update (EAN/UPC, date of contribution, release date and what ever he needs to test what went wrong, if anything did go wrong at the online database) Quote: September 1, 2005 Have none of that release date, the only date in that region I have is 7/09/2005 | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | This is not quite what happened. These were new profiles, so no checkbox appears for any part of the contribution.
There are actually 3 "situations":
1. new profile with release date (documented), which date does not enter the online database
2. updates of existing profiles were a box is presented unnecessarily, proposing to remove an existing release date, which obviously I don't check (the box, I mean)
3. in the latter cases, a week later the existing release date has been removed from the online anyway, and the update propose to remove the local (which I then don't accept, I have started to lock my release dates)
In all cases, a subsequent upload of just the release date has corrected the matter.
I hesitate to contact Ken, since apparently no one else has ever seen this (and he must be busy). I'll just keep trying, and correcting where necessary. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | this leaves you only to try and eliminate possible causes. Quote: My DVD Profiler default setting would be US (most of my DVD's are from there). Maybe that's the problem... I will experiment (tomorrow). ToolsOptionssystemLocalization:US Language Currency:Euro and that don't give me trouble with release date? | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | Apparently a new variety of the same problem.
I contributed profile 024543-527312, with a release date (14-10-2008). As happened sometimes before (less than half the times, no system visible), this did not stick. What the database shows if you try e.g. to download the profile, is 01-01-01. If I try to update my existing profile, it shows no release data at all.
What is new, is that if I try to contribute the release data again, the box with the release data does not show up, so I can not tick this contribution (as if it is the same as the online).
Before, I could just do a second attempt at uploading the release date, and that always worked. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | is the release date not in this format: 9/06/2006 ? instead of 14-10-2008 | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | I filled in by clicking on the date of the calendar.
The date is represented in DVDP by "-", but this may depend on local settings. Anyway with 14-10 there can be no confusion about the order (which is 2008-10-14 in some places, and 10-14-2008 in others).
Anyway, I just tried to contribute again, and this time there is a box with "Oct 14, 2008". From past experience, this will probably stick, but now takes a few days to be accepted. (This was a new profile for a future release, so release date is rather relevant). | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | don't know about those: maybe you cannot add release dates in the future? | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. |
