I think that this is some type of permissons issue. I have tested on 2 of my computers and it seems to work fine. My Server (Vista) works fine. and My Wife's laptop works fine. My work laptop is the one that seems to have the problem. I have verified permissons. Everyone has full permissions to the DVD Profiler Directory.

The funny thing is that this has been happening for about a week or so and as I type this I can't reproduce it.
I did  reapply the permissons to the Dir. and Removed the Read only from the folder.

I will post again if I can recreate my issue.

OK I was able to recreat this. Here is what I did. I bought up profiler and was working on Headshots by double clicking the profile then double clicking the cast memeber then double clicking the picture area that would pull up google images I copied and pasted about 20 or 30 images. Profiler then would not let me copy and paste image any longer. I closed out waited about 1 minute then I went back in and got the following error:

DBISAM Engine Error # 11047 An Unknown operating system error 64 occured with the table 'S:\Dvd Profiler\Databases\Default\Actors.BLB'

My Wife's Computer gives the same error.
My Server Computer (Vista) When I double click it gives no splash screen and nothing happens.

I rebooted my Server Computer and all 3 of my computers can now get back in without problems
until it happens again...

Are you a local admin on your work notebook? Does your work notebook have folder redirection enabled for My documents etc?

Yes I am a local admin on my work laptop. and I do not have any folder redirection. I Plan to test again tonight on my wife's laptop to see if the same thing happens or to see if it's only my work laptop.

This sounds to me like you have something corrupted in the Registry.  Heap problems are generally all the way down at the machine code level.

I tested more with my wife's laptop and she didn't seem to have any problems and I could not recreate the issue on her laptop. This looks to be a problem with my work laptop.

Question for Ken: Are there Temp files that the program writes to on exit that are stored someplace other than the DVD Profiler Directory?

Temp files go to the user's Application Data directory.  There are a couple of cases where the program is still writing to the Program Files dir by mistake that will be corrected in the next release.  They occur during complex filters.

Also this only happens when I Pull up the actors profile and add headshots. As long as I don't pull up the actors profile. I can get in and out out DVD Pro just fine.

It definitely sounds like a rights issue. I would say that that access is restricted to the area where the program needs rights to. This is probably done through Group Policy. It might be difficult to track down since there are numerous Group Policy objects and settings.

I found a fix to my problem: http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=162749

Not sure if it will work for you but here goes:

I realised that my recycle bin was missing from my desktop, so I downloaded and ran the file from http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/rec_bin.htm to restore my recycle bin.

DVD Profiler is now fine.

The corruption of the recycle bin part of the registry was apparently causing DVD Profiler to not run.

Hope this helps
