| Posted: | | | | As I understand it, the date is for the download...not a limitation on how long you can view it. I can still watch all the ones I used the code on. Also, I missed a couple downloads in the beginning and when I emailed the Media company, they gave me a number to access it. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | Well it has happened. The UV DRM vault is shutting down in July. And folks are scrambling to figure things out. For me personally, most (maybe all) of my digital content is in VUDU an I can also see most of them in Movies Anywhere. I will be following this closely, obviously. I have no doubt that there will be enough people affected that they will figure it Otherwise the whole streaming concept will crash and burn if people can't trust it. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | Just bought Groundhog Day, so up to a massive 18 now!
As a penniless Brit who's still waiting for the social benefits of North Sea oil and gas to come my way, I find UHD discs really a bit out of my price range, (despite the weird fact that I've two Samsung UHD players). To prevent me from feeling a failure, I've decided only to buy/upgrade to UHD for films etc which I personally score at least 9/10. And I only do this once I've watched them / them again, to keep the number I want manageable. I also upgrade DVDs to BD (or digital HD) using the same criteria too, if available, if there's no UHD version. (And of course I then do make exceptions to this rule.)
I guess I was wondering how others make the decision to buy/upgrade to UHD if you have anything (money, space, etc) that limits how many you can buy. | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | I'm only upgrading some titles from DVD so far. I think standard blu-rays are good enough in most cases. I'm sure I'll make a few exceptions for special favorites though.
The regular prices for 4K titles in Sweden are quite absurd, put probably not more so than when DVD and blu-rays were new. But times have changed since then and paying substantial cash for physical media is harder to justify these days. I will never have a huge 4K collection for sure. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

All of the 4ks I own are also blu-ray combos, and I only acquired/bought them because they were cheaper than buying the blu-ray only or blu-ray/dvd releases. It is cheapest for me to get movies where I work, but sometimes we only get the 4k/blu combos, or we get those first. In at least one case ( BlacKkKlansman), however, I bought the 4k combo because it was on sale for a significantly cheaper price than the blu-ray. I now have 11. I still have no 4k player or tv, nor any intention of getting one any time soon. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield | | | Last edited: by Danae Cassandra |

| Posted: | | | | 25! Half way to the fifty mark.
I've started to follow a pattern: Older, pre-digital "classics" shot on film: Buy the 4K releases Newer, digital effects heavy films: Skip and get the regular blu-rays. It seems most of the newer films are upscales from 2K anyway. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Two years since I bought my first title and I'm still only at 72. I'm sure with DVDs and blu-rays I had several hundred discs at this point... But maybe that's a healthy sign! | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
