thanks in advance for support Sorry about that. It is a pesky problem that some people have and others don't. Please send me a PM and tell me the date on your install file, and some information about your system. Then I can reply with a link for an update for you to try. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | I'm sorry to say I have another problem with LoadDVD. A few years ago I had an issue with it going into an infinite loop whenever I would select a profile with multiple discs using [filepath disc=n]file path and name[/filepath]. We never found a solution to the problem, but I found I could get 2.46 to work, at least on one machine. Don't ask me why because I have no idea why it would work on that one machine and no other.
My current issue is that that machine's drive died. I'm rebuilding it and I did a clean install of Windows 7 x64 and the only software currently installed is Zoom Player and its support programs, DVDProfiler, LoadDVD and MediaMonkey. The problem I'm having is that when I select one of my multi-disc profiles and select a file to play I get a message that says "Nothing to do" "filepath is empty". I've tried several different versions of LoadDVD but all the others cause the old looping problem. |

I forgot about that, and I have never hit that looping problem you describe. Can you copy and paste the EXACT string (don't rely on re-typing) you have in the Notes file? You could also try alternate formats, such as disc='01', or the HTML version <filepath disc='01'>path ...</filepath>, and see the documentation for additional info. I'm wondering if there isn't some kind of keyboard / code page problem that makes my plugin code see a different character set, and perhaps some of the special characters are not being recognized properly. I would also suggest as a test, on a dummy profile, or any profile with blank Notes, type in a filepath fresh from the keyboard - perhaps there is an interaction with other content in your other Notes - so try a blank one? I can't imagine what might be going on, except perhaps a conflict with your default file associations. If you are loading a DVD onto a virtual or real drive and also asking LoadDVD to play it, then you might have multiple programs attempting to start the movie concurrently, making it appear to be "looping." | | | Thanks for your support. This all worked before, at least with 2.46. The "nothing to do" problem happens with every multi disc profile. All the others work fine.
For the looping issue here's what happens. I select the profile and right click to bring up the context menu but when it comes up the LoadDVD menu item is missing. If I then exit DVDProfiler, it closes but leaves a thread running which shows up in the task manager as a DVDProfiler process using 100% of one processor core. That process never ends, I've let it run for hours just to make sure. I'm willing to burn a copy of my profiler backup to disk and mail it to you if that would help. It would at least allow you to duplicate the problem. |

| Posted: | | | | That looping issue seem like an old bug. I will PM you with a link to the latest LoadDVD I have, and see where we go from there. Maybe my uploads got out of step.
I noticed that, at least for that profile, all your movies are in the J:\Movies folder.
You can also try this:
[series disc="01" episodes="folder"]J:\Movies[/series] with the word "series" in the location field instead of "file".
This should give you a drop down of all the movies in that folder. Maybe useful sometime? Does it work for you?
Edit: I did you a PM for Version 2.62. And just afterwards, it occurred to me what the bug is.
You use disc=1, which was originally supported.
I have since changed to disc="01" or disc ='01', but I did not intend to break the old way of doing it.
So, you can either make a bulk change with BulkEdit to the new way, or hang tight until I can fix the code to reinstate support for the legacy way of doing it.
Of course you should test this with a manual change before doing a bulk update. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | I was working with a couple of users via PM on bugs, but the posts have been deleted. When you see this, please PM me again so we can pickup where we left off. I think I've got the issues we were working on resolved. I'd like a couple of testers before I release it - so much code has changed. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | LoadDVD V2.69 AvailableTrying to clean up accumulated bugs and broken features. Lots of code changes. Here is what I remember: - Reworked installation script (again). Hopefully I have finally resolved various installation issues. - Reworked menu system for more consistency across the three modes (Main menu, DVD menu, context menu) - Fixed errors in parsing the series specification and determining file paths A corresponding version of LoadDVD Pro, using the same code base, will be made available once I get some feedback on the base. Bug fixes to the base will automatically be included in the Pro version. Existing Pro version users may request an advance copy for testing. | Posted: | | | | Fun With Alexa
I got an Echo Dot as a Christmas present, and it gave me a chance to mess with one of the fun features of LoadDVD - the "[SAY]" command. Microsoft text-to-speech is built into LoadDVD. MS TTS has been improving over time. LoadDVD commands can parse certain tags that pull metadata from a profile.
Want to have some fun? Try these (insert commas to adjust playback speed):
[SAY] Alexa, what is the cast for the movie, %title% [SAY] Alexa, where is the movie, %title%, playing today [SAY] Alexa, what movies have the same director as, %title% [SAY] Alexa, play soundtrack from the movie, %title% [SAY] OK Google, Open Youtube trailer for movie, %title%
These commands operate on the currently selected DVD. The command strings can be executed from the clipboard, the Location field of a disc, or from Notes.
You can also send these commands to any copy of DVD Profiler running LoadDVD anywhere on your network, using the RunAction.exe standalone program that ships with LoadDVD. Example: runaction "[SAY] Alexa, tell me about the movie, %title%" 192.168.1.125 4747 where the IP address of the PC is 192.168.1.125 and the port is 4747 (set in LoadDVD options).
See all the commands in the LoadDVD documentation referenced in the lead post to this thread.
Have fun!!! Please post any good phrases you get to work with Google, Sirii, Cortana or Alexa. The list of metadata tags (%tag%) is also in the LoadDVD documentation. | | | Thanks for your support. Also, your website seems to be down. |

Also, your website seems to be down. Thanks for the notice about the web site. But it seems to work when I try it. If you are still having trouble, please post the exact URL you are using. Thanks. I am looking into ways of exploiting all the digital assistants. What works out of the box is what I posted: Alexa for music and Google Home for YouTube. I haven't done much with Cortana on Windows or Xbox, but they would also probably work immediately for YouTiube trailers. What might be prohibitive is the astronomical fees that Amazon charges for business use of the Alexa portal. But I am exploring it. With the Amazon APIs, I could easily enable my automation capabilities to be launched from voice commands to Alexa. The coding is not hard, but the cost is high. So that support would have to be reserved for the Pro version of LoadDVD, so that I could recover some of my expenses. If you find an Alexa skill that will play a video file, then LoadDVD has the %filepath% metadata tag that is handed to you when the DVD disc is selected or a file is selected from a folder list drop down. Then you can [SAY] what that skill requires and use the &filepath% tag in the command to speak the name of the file that the user has selected. | | | Thanks for your support.
