Well, I was only stating my opinion. I don't spend hours upon hours putting discs in the DVD drive
Since I want to make sure that I record the absolute correct Disc ID number in the Disc Tab of the profile, I always put every ned DVD disc into my DVD ROM drive when I get it. While it's there, the program tells me whetehr there's a profile available or not.
That's just me....but I doubt that I'm alone.
Hey, I check 'em, too! I just grab 'em all at once, and then check at my leisure. I can always modify things if necessary at that point. But I grab the children first, THEN the master, and don't lose the box set contents at all. Grabbing the children first makes absolutely no difference. The boxset contents do not download with the profile (at least so that you can see them in the boxset contents vieew). | | | Hal |

I guess we could have a vote to see just how the comunity is split on this

With Disc ID differences, there really can't be any other way. Whether you read the disc first, then download the profile, or grab all the children and then read the disc to verify the ID is immaterial. Takes just as long to do either one - I've tried it both ways. | | | John

There is already a poll on this, Rick. And a consensus was reached. We had one at IVS and one here, do we ned a third. Are we playing recount? Skip No, not a recount. His poll is very specific to just the issue of whether the child profiles should be listed in the box set contents of the parent. That's it. No recount. And this has never been a specific poll before of which I'm aware. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | Too throw my 2 cent's worth in, I'm with John on this one, in that if a keepcase digipak or whatever form of packaging is used, if it contains more than one title / episode it should be classified as a box set be it movies or of a TV series, because at the moment there are two sets of rules for similar items, note I said similar.
It's so simple to have for arguments sake the series 24, which when purchased is one box for the whole season / series, but contains 5,6 or 7 disc's, to me that's a box set with 5, 6 or 7 child profile by disc id, not a lot of difference to Pink Panther Collection one outer box with 6 child profile inside done by disc id.
The rules state "The term "Box Set" is used to define any release that includes more than one film." a TV Season / Series is nothing more than a box set under this definition.

No recount.
And this has never been a specific poll before of which I'm aware. Thanks James. That'll teach me to actually try to get some work done No recount. No rolling eyes required. Just trying to get the last of the topic nailed down. Things move fast when Ken gives us the word. Try to keep up Thanks Again Ken! Do I have the summary right? If so, what are the objections of the dissenters? No objection whatsoever. My votes have always been for the rules, whether I personally like them or not. I've never cared one way or the other on this issue, but I always voted according to the rules. Now that you've made a statement, I will be happy to vote differently. Ken and Gerri are the only people I will listen to for rules changes. My one request: once this is decided for certain, please update the rules. | | | Build a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day. Set a man on fire and you keep him warm the rest of his life. |
