I'm not aware that any of my over 1,000 CDs and 752 DVDs have any disc rot.  Most that have any playing issues have visible scratches.

That can always be an issue.. when do you check your library, untill it’s too late. Glad though this thread is open for others to post. Surprised about the 2,disc Bond titles.

Air Force, UPC 012569599826

36 Hours, UPC 012569797031

Operation Crossbow UPC 012569795525

All failed the same way, they play for an hour or so then freeze. You can look at the playing surface and see a lighter color, irregular shaped ring on the outer area of the disc.

36 Hours and Air Force are part of a Warner Box set from 2007, Operation Crossbow is also a Warners disc from 2006. Warner is known to have a lot of bad discs from this era.

UK DVD release of Babylon 5 complete collection 7321902209159, various discs from each season no longer play.

Crank 2 5060052417770 UK blu-ray no longer plays

Solomon Kane 5017239151590 UK blu-ray

Gamer 5017239151408 UK blu-ray

Scarecrow Slayer DVD 5060020622335 won't load at all

None of them show any visible signs, just won't work and that's trying multiple standalone and PC based drives.

The Bunker DVD 5034377031188 - slowly failing, my guess is the layer change as the pixellation happens at the same point every time but is slowly getting worse.

The Outer Limits Volume One (Season 1-4) 9337369014968 by ViaVision distributed by Madman. Out of 24 discs,  7 discs only play the first episode, towards the end of second it stops. Can't watch anything after that. 4 are not recognised as a disc. They were fine when I originally wztched them about 3 years ago.I contacted them, communicated my problem and that the boxset being only 3 years old. All discs are marked as manufactured by Dexter Audio which Volume Two are not, and those discs are fine. They told me they are investigating the problem. I think I blew my money.

The Prodigal: Cult Camp Classic

Regions: 1, 2, 3, 4

Released: 26/06/2007

Anamorphic 2.55:1

Might be an idea for others who own it to check.

Broadcast on Sony UBP-X800M2 Ultra HD multi-zone player. No longer works when viewed on March 4, 2024. It bugs at the beginning of chapter 13 at 49 minutes, 29 seconds. Resumes with jerky playback in chapter 17 at 1 hour, 5 minutes. Chapters 18 to 26 are readable, but it bugs again in chapter 27 at 1 hour, 43 minutes and 20 seconds, right to the end. Chapters 28, 29 and 30 are illegible.

Viva Zapata!: 20th Century Fox Studio Classics (UPC : 024543-782773) Canada

On some players, the menu does not appear. On my Panasonic DMPBD60-80 Blu-ray player, the menu appears pixelated and playback proceeds normally for up to 1 hour, 30 minutes. Then pixelation and a stop bug occur. This prevents the film from playing completely. As of December 12, 2023. Anyone else have a problem with this blu-ray?

For "The Prodigal", it's Warner.

Is there anything I can do to have it replaced by them?
