| Posted: | | | | For quite some time I didn't want to do kind of child profiles with Alt. ID if there are several movies on one disc. Meanwhile I changed and started to do.... but it was shocking to find out, that on my new PC (now with Win11) the DiscIDs of the same Discs I created the profiles with Win8.5 (or even XP) no are different:
Example: Win8.5 BB66DADD24A03E01 [FILMPERLEN_DER_60ER_DISC5]
Win11 66EECD4F1DDD7582 [FILMPERLEN_DER_60ER_DISC5]
Is this something known? Could I do anything with Windows 11 that it still reads the IDs the same way the former version did? |

| Posted: | | | | You don't need to read the disc again, just use the Create Version under Change UPC, making sure to select retain current version. See image below for an example. | | | Registered: February 10, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Sorry for the late answer... don't know how this happened, but I checked "subsribe" before releasing the thread - and never got any info. Well, I decided to avoid installation of further tools... I do it the way with new IDs And I mostly don't need any Alt. Version as most of the profiles I needed this for "only" exist with the ID of former Windows |

| Posted: | | | | Please don't. If Microsoft ever fix this, we have invalid Disc IDs in the database. I can supply you my registered copy of SlySoft AnyDVD which you can run in the background, while using DVDProfiler, and it will read the actual Disc ID. | | | Last edited: by GreyHulk |

| Posted: | | | | After almost seven years you are still thinking Microsoft will change this back - not happening! Like many other changes users have disagreed with "This is a feature, not an error."
The rules tell you how to obtain the disc-id. :
"Disc IDs Add disc information for each disc using a DVD-ROM drive."
No mention of using any other software to obtain the disc-id. | | | Registered: February 10, 2002 |
