There are 12 contributions up for voting for the child profiles of the Shawscope Volume One box set. They all use scans from the enclosed booklet rather than the scan of the actual box. I understand the reason that the contributor prefers these images. Just having the same boxset image for all 12 looks boring. I'm not sure it's a good thing, though. My reasons:

1) There is no mention in the rules that boxset child profiles can have scans from booklets.
2) It looks odd to have the front cover from the booklet and the back cover from the (oversized) box.

I was under the impression that the front and back scans should be the same size, but I see no mention of that in the rules.

It would have been great if we could have had Ken weigh in on this, but that's not going to happen. So I guess the ultimate ruling is down to the community and the screeners. So, what do you think? Acceptable or not?

No for the online. Yes, if you keep it local. I've done this myself.

Personally i think child profiles should only have different covers than the parent when they have their own case and cover, and thus in this case i think the cover should benof the actual box.

Since however i wasn’t sure what the rules were regarding this i voted neutral on the contribution and will keep the profile locked.

No... not for the online. This should be kept local.

I actually think the rules are fairly clear on this.  If a film is individually packaged, use the cover images from that packaging.  If they are not individually packaged, they use the cover from the box set.

This. I handle it differently local (I hate having the boxcover for all the movies) but for the online DB I too think the rules are quite clear.

This for me as well...Mithi's portion.  I also handle it differently in my local.

I thought I remembered it being stated in the rules... but I had a hard time finding it under the words I searched. I see now I just searched the wrong words. I should have searched the word packaging in this case.
