| Posted: | | | | I've just seen a submission where a Box Set has had the CoO added.
Now because it's so new there is nothing in the Rules to say No but I would have thought this info should only be in the Child profiles as, potentially, Box Sets can contain films from different countries. Of course if the CoO of a Box simply tells you the CoO of the box set distributor that would be consistent by the Rules but would it add much?
What are other people's thoughts?
FYI the 'Box Set' in question is actually the Double Sided DVD for Desperado and El Mariachi | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | I think I agree with 8ballMax.
Another similar problem I have seen is, when foreign movies get released by a local DVD company. If they produce special features in that way, that the Bonus disc ends up with it's own profile, would we add a CoO to that disc, which one would it be...? That of the DVD company or that one of films...?
While I lack an example right now, I have seen CoO added to Bonus Material discs. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | I'm thinking, if all the children have the same CoO, we should be able to add a CoO to a box set. But if the children have mixed Countries of Origin, probably not as good of an idea. With Production year, we are using the earliest year within the set, aren't we? |

I don't see an issue with CoO on a boxset if all titles have the same CoO. We give it a production year, overview, rating and run time. Don't think CoO will hurt anything. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. | | | Last edited: by schultzy |

| Posted: | | | | If all films are from the same CoO, then I say go for it. I even do this with aspect ratio if ALL the films are the same. If we ever get to choose more than one CoO, all the better. I like information, as long as it's accurate. | | | Build a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day. Set a man on fire and you keep him warm the rest of his life. | | | Last edited: by RHFactor |

I agree with shultzy, why do these have a run time, rating, etc if there are not actually anything produced for it, why are we putting these items in there. It does not hurt anything to have it there, as long as all thing add up to the same (ie, if all discs are produced in the same country). |

| Posted: | | | | Since many of the users agree to use the distributor as the only studio, it will be logical (IMO) that CoO refers to that same distributor. But then again the locality already tells us that, so it would be redundant to use a country name twice. | | | Martin Zuidervliet
