I have just installed version 3.0.3 build 1136 and I cannot add anymore DVD's by UPC code although it exists when I add it via "Add by title"

Example : Movie Casino Royale UPC 333297197656
when I try to add it via the UPC recognition it says that this UPC is not recognized
when I try by title it exists and I can add it

Could you please help me ?

Thanks

that error has always been around. It's rather obvious. It means that upc isn't in the database. So the simple answer is to add it. And as you obviously don't know how to do that, uncheck the 'download from Invelos' box.

This UPC is not valid, hence the refusal.
More Info needed: where did you buy this DVD, which Region has it? And if you can please publish (or email me) a scan of the UPC field with at least 200dpi.

Mithi's Log, Supplemental: Ah, found it, the EAN is 3-333297-197656
The profile exist as Locality France and Switzerland.

DVD Profiler 3.x uses the full EAN/UPC so nor more digit-dropping as in 2.x

The other two posters triggered me to take a second look...

You didn't find the profile by UPC, becuase you were missing the first digit of the UPC: 3333297197656

Since DVD Profiler 3.0.0 we are now using the full UPC, rather than the "shortened" version we used with the previous version.

ya_shin...

Another Phantasm fan... nice. I've an original one-sheet for the first movie. There has been talk of a 5th in the franchise... to tidy things up.

I sure am a fan (even more after my recent viewing...). On the fifth disc with the featurettes there were also some comments regarding a 5th movie. It's far from definitive, and Angus isn't getting any younger, but it was not ruled out and most actors seemed game.

It was also fun to hear from Don, explaining a few plot lines he previously considered... Yet, he also pointed out that there are some he won't discuss, as, well, he may want to use them...
