and I added some details by I cannot submit it
as it says CHECK EAN Nr if this is complese
but the DVD shows this code and it was already in the database

It is an illegal EAN since the last number is a cheksum so if the first 12 numbers are:
920070500009
the last character must be a 6, not a 1, for it to be legal.

I think you missed the first sentence in Voltaire's post where he suggests that your title "got into the database before the error checking code was introduced." Just because it's already in the database doesn't mean the EAN is correct. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

| | Posted: | | | | I had a look on the back cover image of the profile currently in database. The barcode is not an EAN barcode, it is some other standard (code39, code128 or any other). But definitely not EAN. Therefore technically the digits do not represent an EAN code.
It looks like it is just some code the distributor issued to that DVD; it just happened to be thirteen digits length which is the same as the length of EAN.
If you are certain that it is a legitimate release, then you can also contribute using disc ID. |

(Be sure to follow the Rules for contributing) http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/contributions/Rules.aspx Once you have done that under the Online section along the top task bar, ninth item down you should see "Contribute DVD Profile" the follow any instructions. He can't do that since the EAN is not valid. He has to change the EAN to disc ID and then contribute. |

All Voltaire53 meant is that the EAN on the back of the cover is invalid according to the rules that barcodes have to follow in the industry. This happens quite a few times - it could be a simple misprint on the cover, or a single incorrect number typed in at the factory. In order to contribute this profile you're best off changing the EAN to use the Disc ID instead - that should allow you to contribute. |
