Hello again - can you tell I have just started to use v3...apologies for the flurry of questions...

I am trying to add the last 9 discs I have purchased but the UPC/EAN is not recognised.

Now I understand that sometimes the actual disc details may not have been uploaded yet but after years of using v2.x I have never had so many discs unrecognised.

I have in the past uploaded discs to the database but before I do I would like to know I don't have a problem elsewhere and the disc does actually exist!

The discs in question were all purchased retail in the UK so I shall assume are all Region 2;

Apocalypto
Biography: Richard Pryor
Bonanno - Godfather's Story
Déjà Vu
The Good Shepherd
Hot Fuzz
Outlaw
Smokin' Aces
White Noise: The Light

A couple of the more obscure titles I would think may not have been uploaded yet but the rest are all big DVD releases that would normally be uploaded quickly - or at least were on the old site

It just seems ironic that here I am using a new, improved version of DVDProfiler but have been unable to update the database automatically.

I have checked my settings and have the 'DOwnload Profile from Invelos' checked.

Any help would be gratefully received - if it is as fast as the replies to my previous post I promise not to ask another question for at least 24 hours!

Thanks & kind regards,
-=Glyn=-

Unfortunately I'm at work, so can't check till tonight - but it would be helpful if you could list the UPCs for us, to look into them.
As you're right - especially with a list like that - it's odd that they aren't already there.
Are they perhaps, special limited editions that maybe haven't been added yet? Do they have slipcases where the UPC on the slipcover doesn't match the one on the case itself?
If you could give us as much info as you can, we'll be happy to help!

Are you using the full UPC/EAN?

It's a silly question, but that's one of the changes in 3.0x that people overlook.

Apocalypto, Hot Fuzz and Smokin Aces are all in the database as R2 UK entries.

You need to supply the EANs you've got.

Thanks for the replies guys...

Here are the EAN/UPC numbers taken from the back of the DVD cases - AFAIK there are no SE/LE or specially packaged versions;

Apocalypto                          051429-101118
Biography: Richard Pryor      34741316019
Bonanno - Godfather's Story  060146-911788
Déjà Vu                              717418-122980
The Good Shepherd              050582-483901
Hot Fuzz                              050582-487190
Outlaw                                060002-835623
Smokin' Aces                      050582-487138
White Noise: The Light         017239-194689

All of them (with the exception of Richard Pryor I believe) were purchased from Tesco and are the usual, everyday, run-of-the-mill releases.

I just found it odd because I never had this amount of unrecognised discs in 2.x

Thanks and kind regards,

Glyn, I'm region one, so I don't have these, but searched for upc on my own...For White Noise: The Light, if you add a 5 to the begining, you get the right profile.  In other words, if you use, 5017239-194689, you get the profile you're looking for.  Are you maybe not using the full UPCs/EAN numbers?

Glyn, are all of these Region 1 or another region? If they are not region 1 you need to use all 13 numbers in the EAN.

Did you read and understand this earlier post? Your listed UPC/EAN are incomplete. 3.x is different than 2.x in this area. I'm sure you'll find most of your DVDs once you start using the full UPC/EAN

Indeed for Apocalypto you should enter:

5051429101118

Note the leading 5 that can be found to the left of the barcode. Add the lead digit found on each barcode for all the other titles and you should find most of them, if not all.
