I have been having a few problems with my work notebook on which I run DVDProfiler. Three of my IT staff wisely decided that it was in their interests to fix it.

Unfortunately they have managed to destroy my database. We will be discussing how they managed that on Monday.

Fortunately I have a backup from a week ago and haven't changed anything since. I have fired up DVDProfiler, re-entered my registration details and commenced a full database restore. So far so good. The catch is that it seems stuck at 1%. No error messages are showing up.

Has anyone had to perform a full restore and if so how long should it take? (It has been stuck on 1% for about 20 minutes. I have the full headshots master database in my backup).

my restore typically takes about 10 minutes or so (2.5gb). I did one yesterday on my work pc as it was so out of sync with my home pc.

I don't suppose its hidden a window anywhere. Might be worth alt-tab a few times to check. When I restored I told it to replace existing cast/crew images with what's in the backup. Maybe its prompting you somewhere and you can't see that window.

Won't hurt killing it and starting again. You could try restoring without cast/crew and even images to check that bit works first.

It is ok now. My profile has been destroyed which has affected my install. I worked out that DvdProfiler was looking for my database in the default location. We have folder redirection enabled on that location. Once I worked it out I browsed to where I had stored my database and I'm back in business.

Ken should really look at changing the default install settings.
