I have tried backing up my DVD Profile as I did once before to move to a new computer.  Now I have another computer with more space and I want to move the program to that computer.  However, every time I back up the program and try to restore it to the new computer, I can't get it to go to the D drive so that I can export to D: and physically move it to new computer.  Before I just backed it up and copied the file to D and restored it on the new computer but when I try that with this program it does not give me my cover scans and profile for new computer.  I know that I am just making some stupid mistake but I can't seem to figure what I am doing wrong.  Can you please help?

When you go to backup database, make sure you've ticked "all profiles" and make sure if you want your cover scans etc. backed up too that all tickboxes are flagged for the options you want to keep.
If that doesn't work, try giving us a list of what you're doing so we can try it ourselves to see what's going on.

Hopefully I understand what you mean: you try to move the complete programme from one pc to another?

I think the best way is this:
1. On your old computer make a full backup of your database. File ends with *.dpb
2. Save this backup an a portable drive or cd/dvd
3. on your new computer first install the dvd profiler programme
4. make a full restore from the usb stick, or cd or dvd containing the *.dpb file. The drive letter of your removable device should be found when profiler opens explorer to look for the backup file

I try to back up to my d drive which is the portable one but it keeps telling me "cannot create D:\backup.dpb.  It won't let me check the "removable drive" box. Does that help?  I simple want to move the files and program to my new laptop.

backup the file on to your c: drive, move it later with drag and drop to your portable drive

Are you connecting your removable drive before or after you start Profiler?
If you're still having problems - what Giga says should be fine.
