I want to add a DVD by inserted disc. I go to Tools-> Options-> System but then when I go to DVD-Rom the only option available is None. How do I get another option besides None? Thanks in advance.

Odd, you shouldn't need to do anything except click the dropdown arrow as it should automatically detect and dvd rom drive installed in your system, and the dropdown should display it's drive letter.

There should be a drop-down list with available drive letters corresponding to the DVD/CD drives you have installed in your system.

I used to have a drop-down list but it has disappeared; when I press the button only None comes up.

As other have said, it _should_ just work. As it doesn't, try inserting a DVD (maybe get it playing just to prove to the computer that it's in) and then checking the drop down.

This is a sig... ... ... yay...

Don't understand? Maybe DVDProfilerWiki.org does!

Doesn't affect the drop down in the tools section when I have it running.

I seem to remember this happening to me once long ago in the program. It was just a system glitch or something. I rebooted the computer and it worked fine again.

I tried all your suggestions and nothing - I figured I'd give it one more shot and success!!!  There must be some type of time delay! Thanks for all your help.

I have placed my DVD ROM drive on "B:" (hey, it's just sitting there, right?! ) and with this config, the drive doesn't show up in DVD Profiler. If I change the drive letter to say, "G:", the drive shows up fine! Is this a bug in the wonderful Profiler?

It's possible it's a left-over from the good ol' days of floppy discs. In the days they were on all computers, letters A and B were reserved for floppy drives.

Northbloke is exactly right, B is for a floppy.

Oh, I remember the good (?) ol' days of two floppies, when they really *were* floppy, and no hard drive. Our first 20MB (!!!) hard drive was quite incredible - we could actually start the computer (DOS 3.1) from the hard drive, and 20MB's!? Imagine the inconceivable amount of data you'd need to fill that up!?

The thing is, the A and B drives are perfectly usable in Windows for mapping local or networked drives, but DVD Profiler seems to have an issue with this. Are the developers reading this forum, I wonder? And can a bugfix be issued?
