I just formatted and reinstalled xp media center on my pc. I just realized that the only back up I had of my DVD Profiler database was an exported XML I made for another program called My Movies. Is there a way to restore my DVD Profiler database from this XML file? Thanks.

Not that I know of, sounds like you shot yourself in the foot. You didn't even upload it to the Invelos servers so you would at least have an emergency backup. You can't have enough backups, I use 4 different types....just in case.

An export is just that. If you have a copy of 2.4 still online then you can try downloading from there and then bring that back into version 3

I exported my database into a local XML file for use with other movie programs. My database is no where on the net. So it looks like i'll had to recreate my 265 movie database from scratch.

I've read in the forums people recommending a UPC scanner called cue cat. It that can be bought for around $10 on ebay. Be sure and back up your database this time!
