Can I still update profiles in version 2.x?

I have a 3rd party application that uses the collection.xml from DVD Profiler file to populate a list of titles\thumbnails for remote control of a DVD changer (Girder- very cool stuff if you haven't heard of it).  However, it was written using the file format in v2.x, and apparently there have been a few changes in the format used in 3.x which are incompatible.  I downgraded back to v2.5, but I can't add any DVD's or anything because it cannot update from the online profiles list.  When I try I get an error "This file format is newer than this version of DVD Profiler.  You will need to obtain a newer version of DVD Profiler to proceed."

Is there any way I can work around this?

2.x is virtually dead, there are no more updates to it. I suggest you get in touch with the developer of your program and ask him to update his program.

Unfortunately it is likely to be quite some time before this happens.  I'm not all that worried about new updates, I'd just like to be able use whatever was available before the new release.

If the online profiles list error is stopping you from adding any profiles, even manual ones, then it's because you are missing a couple of files: OnlineList.dod and Dvds.dod
They will have been erased if you uninstalled 2.5 and normally would be downloaded by the program after re-installation. But obviously, they're only there for version 3 now.
I don't have these files myself, but someone else may be able to help. Try searching the forums to see if there's a download link anywhere.

I'm sure I saw somewhere mention of a plugin that allows you to export xml in the 2.4 format from version 3, or converts the xml file into the right format, that might be a better option for you (if it exists!)

That would be a MUCH better solution all around.  Thanks for the help!

That would be TomGaines CCViewer tool. It can import the Profiler 3.0 XML, and then you can export to Profiler 2.4 XML from CCViewer.

Make sure you get the standalone app, not the plugin.
