Hello, I'm new to HTPC's and just built a new system with Vista ultimate. This is what I would like to be able to do.

I have a collection of DVD's that I have ripped using clone dvd. I have transfered them to the D drive on the new htpc. Can DVD profiler search these files that clone dvd has created and create a libary of these movies including genre, movie discription etc. So far I can't find a program that can do this, hopefully DVD profiler can.
Thanks,
luckyflyer

no it can't. You have to enter the UPC or EAN barcode or title or put each dvd in the dvd drive and let dvdprofiler recognise the disc-id

You can pick up a CueCat barcode scanner for pretty cheap (under $10) from eBay - be sure to get a USB neutered/fixed version, that'll allow you to quickly enter the DVD's.  You can use the LoadDVD plugin to play the backup copy of the DVD but you'll need to put the information in the profile manually for the plugin to know what directory to use.

Thanks for the quick replies. Is it possible to have these capabilities? I would sure buy a program that could do these things if it were available.
Thanks

Yes, you can have those capabilities with the LoadDVD plugin but again, it's not automatic.  You'll need to put forth the effort to configure the profiles in DVDP to get things to work.
