| Posted: | | | | Loaded the latest version of Zone Alert Internet Suite on my Win2000 system offered by my IP Hughes Sat. Found it to nearly corrupt every program including DVDpro. Slows my cpu to nearly a crawl. Remove the Zone Alert. Try to start DVDpro ver 3.0 and get "Program generated errors, windows is closing program." Try to uninstall DVDpro and get "Exception in Unins000.exe" Manually delete all DVDpro files and reg entries. Try to reinstall ver 3.1.1 and recv error "Exception in module is-VISEL.tmp at 000534B1. CoInitialize failed (0x80004005). I'm pretty well messed up on this one. I would recommend that you stay away from this anti-virus software if you want your DVDpro to keeping working. Guess I will have to reload last system backup unless someone has any ideas. Thanks in advance. |

My brother's father-in-law's service provider is Hughes Sat as he lives out in the boonies and can't get DSL or Cable. I'll give him a heads-up. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I once used Zone Alarm, did a similar thing (though not as excess). Never used it again, now use F-Secure, which has been really good. Anyway, dont know how to fix that, i would just reinstall windows | | | Last edited: by whispering |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not experiencing any problems in running the free version of ZoneAlarm and DVDP side by side. Perhaps the free version does not cause the same problems the entire suite does? |

| Posted: | | | | The free firewall causes no problems with DVDpro. Used it for years, and never had any issues with DVDpro (had some other general issues that led me to exchange firewalling software, but not that).
The entire security suit does dig a lot deeper into your system analysing programs and whatever more. | | | With every passing hour our solar system comes forty-three thousand miles closer to globular cluster M13 in the constellation Hercules, and still there are some misfits who continue to insist that there is no such thing as progress. |

| Posted: | | | | If you are looking for a really good Securitysuite try here it's a premium firewall combined with a first class antivirus. The firewall is even able to protect you from "own stupidity". | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I have never liked these suites and prefer to get the separate applications - at the moment I'm using Nod (AV) and my firewall is sygate personal firewall (which is free). | | | Paul |
