| Posted: | | | | Hi,
I used DVDProfiler for many years now and this is the first time it won't start...
The loading window appears, the loading begin but it stops at 10%. dvdpro.exe uses 99% of CPU time but nothing appens.
I tried to repair the database. No success.
I tried to install it again. No succes.
Is anyone have an idea?
(and my last backup is from july...) |

| Posted: | | | | So now it starts, but still have some problems finally: - it takes 15/20min to open (30s/1min before) every time - add a disc by EAN doesn't work, EAN is not recognized (only add by title is now possible) The good news is that when it finally opens I have been able to make a backup of my collection A full repair of the database didn't change a thing. Neither a reboot. The program using the last percent is Kaspersky. DVDProfiler is the only program affected and I have not installed new programs recently. But 2 days ago Windows did an automatic restart after an update while DVDProfiler was open and I suspect maybe it was not closed properly then. Thanks for your help. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi, you said you reinstalled the profiler. Does this mean you made a complete uninstall of the previous installation? If not you should give this procedure a try.
You should download the latest profiler again, to ensure that there is no problem with the installation file.
After this you should reinstall the plain profiler without any addons. Restore you backup and check the loading time of profiler again.
Did you check the profiler after booting windows in safe mode?
Sorry, no other ideas here
Good luck! | | | Thorsten | | | Last edited: by kahless |

I think I will try to completly uninstall it this evening. |

I wonder if the problem is with your DVD drive? You might try: Tools / Options / System and change your drive to "None". See if that breaks a loop between DVDP and the drive. | | | ...James

Sounds more like a loop between Kaspersky and DVDPro to me. The question is why? The unasked restart should only have effected the database not the program itself, so normally UPC search should still work. I think kahless has the best solution up to now. Please let us know about the results. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | DVD Profiler occassionally has problems when it is shutdown improperly, especially if it was minimised at the time. Hold down the CTRL key as the program starts and this will restore the default settings.
Let me know if you still have a problem after trying this. | | | Last edited: by Telecine |

| Posted: | | | | Hi everyone,
Finally I started it (took 20min to load) and then made a "refresh profile list from Invelos".
Works fine since then. Loads in 30s and adding disc is OK.
Maybe the previous refresh went bad and corrupted something that is not include in the database repair tool... |
