I did a search and could not find this question in these forums.
Does anyone know of a DVD recorder that has component inputs as opposed to composite or s-video?

I know the newer recorders do not record protected network shows, I just want to record a few in Hi-Def, not the inferior formats.

Thanks,

Bobb

All the DVD recorders on the market in the US right now are SD.

You can pick up a Blu-Ray burner and SL discs but I don't know of any software off-hand that'll let you burn a movie in Blu-Ray format.

bobb you can record network TV shows that broadcast in HD using a couple of PC add-ons. I've built my own Home Theater PC and it's kind of easy.  You need an Over-The-Air Digital Tuner card with an antenna that can receive the OTA digital broadcast signals. I use the Dvico FusionHDTV5 RT Gold card (http://www.fusionhdtv.co.kr/ENG/Products/) but there are newer digital tuners available, you need software to record the shows, i use the Snapstream's Beyond TV since it has a free updated Electronic Program Guide (http://www.snapstream.com).  Finally you need a burner that can burn the HD size content, preferrably Blu-ray burner at this point.  Snapstream can record the OTA TV shows that broadcast in HD via the OTA digital signal and you can burn it to blu-ray disk.  Nero Ultra has built-in support for blu-ray burners.
