Amazon has decided to fire off emails to folks who purchased a HD DVD player from it before February 23, 2008 in order to bestow upon them a $50 credit for their trouble. The credit expires 4/9/09.

Just wanted to mention for anyone else that may be waiting for their email... I checked with Amazon and apparently they automatically applied the $50 certificate to my account.  Not sure why they're sending email notices to some people and applying it automatically to others.  I have an Amazon Prime account as well, though not sure if that matters.  So all you have to do it place an order over $50 and you'll see the deduction before placing the order.  I threw a random item into my cart just to check and went to checkout and sure enough there was a $50 deduction.

Yay Amazon!

Interesting.  I'm also Prime but they sent me the email Apr 9 with a promo code. Not sure there is a rhyme or reason to this.

(I'm kicking myself for not buying 40 more HD-DVD players.  I'd have enough for a nice 50-60 inch HDTV!    This 34" HDTV is getting smaller by the day.)
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!
