If there were other "Writing" and/or "Director" credits, I would not credit Peter Fernandez at all.

Huh? What ARE you talking aout? Are you talking about some sort of situation beyond the scope of the data Cubby presented, in which case your comment would seem totally irrelevant. Or are you saying something else. <scratching head>

OCB: perhaps NOT. Are these characters created for this movie? If yes, then OCB is not correct credit. The notes column in the rules says:

Quote:
Used for screenplays based on characters from another work, credit the author of the characters here. For example comic adaptations and sequels.

Speed Racer is the Americanized version of Mach GoGoGo, which was a TV translation of the original manga comic by Tatsuo Yoshida, so I would say yes to OMB and OCB in the credits.

I did not know the background. I was only "judging" based on the credits. I withdraw my previous comment.

I think Hal's comment made perfect sense.  If the credit is "Dialogue Written & Directed by..." and there are further director and writer credits, then it can be argued that this credit does not belong.

I'm not sure that I agree with Hal, but I do understand his comment.

Exactly.

If someone else has an actual "Director" credit, and someone else has an actual "Writer (or Written By)" or even "Screenplay" credit, in the film, then I definitely would not give "Dialogue Written and Directed By" any kind of credit in DVDP.

Thatt's great, hal but it muddies the water for Cubby. He put up specific data and you threw a curve ball.

What curve ball? Cubby's "specific data" only indicates part of the credits. It's perfectly reasonable to say that it depends on the context whether Fernandez gets credited in Profiler.

Unlike you and hal, Gunnar. i presume that Cubby provided the information from the credits. You and hal assume there is more there and therefore throw up straw men to provide controversy and confusion, which you both are incredibly good at. Why don't you for once simply deal with the data that is provided,

What you should do, instread of throwing a straw man into the mix, is that IF Cubby did not provide complete data then by all means provide correct data. otherwise your comment is insulting to both myself and Cubby.

If you disagree with the conclusion that I and others have reached based on the data provided...fine. Disagree, by all means. But don't throw in arguments without basis designed merely to cause confusion

Gosh you are infuriating! You presume, and that's ok. We assume, and that's insulting?
And furthermore we did not assume anything. We said "If there is". That's not assuming anything.
You're the one making assumptions!

All you have to do is deal with Cubby's data. Nothing more or less.Remember there are more users than just Cubby, and they could very easily confused by your If there is comment, it needed not be made since based on the data it is not relevant, there may come a thread where it might be relevant but not this one. What you have succeeded in doing as so often happens, is decided (delibverately) to take a stance that turns this thread into you me and Hal instead of what the topic was. I am through with you on this one. You will no longer create such havoc.
