You could use MicroSoft SyncToy: the smart way to copy files If no network available you could use the DVD Profiler Backup Feature on to any removable media, harddisc, RW, memorystick. In the first case you would use this folder on your laptop or somewhat simular: where Mijn Documenten would be My Documents and Chris would be the Username where the DVD Profiler is installed. The same structure should be found on your HTPC. The folder to sync would be Databases | | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | | Posted: | | | | Something I do on a regular basis is to upload to My Profiler, then on the second PC, use the download option to get the most current updates. I haven't used any personalized info as of yet, so I'm not sure if that info would be retained/lost in the process between the two PCs. |

This used to not be the case however and you would loose any personalization by doing this. For this reason, and various others, this should not be used as a backup method The best method to just copy the your collection from one computer to another would be the backup and restore as you can also include any local cover images as well as images for cast and crew. USB drives are pretty cheap so unless you have extremely high quality images and a ton of dvds, you should be able to get one that will fit your backup, even easier if they are on the same network. If you want a more real time sync with your collection on both machines, then one of the sync programs (there was another thread with this as well) would probably be your best bet. You can also just have both computers access the same database over the network but this has some drawbacks such as only being able to access it from one computer at a time. -Agrare |
