When I use a UPC scanner to add dvds it adds a 0 before the first digit. This causes the dvd to not be found in the database. However, if I delete the added 0 the dvd is found. I know it is the scanner doing this. I am guessing the added 0 has something to do with the EAN bar codes. I've tried several different dvds and the added 0 always causes the dvd to not be found. Is there anyway for dvd profiler to ignore the first 0 or do I have to continue deleting it?  Thanks for your help.

Which barcode scanner do you use and does it require any software for it to work?
Unfortunately I can't think of any way of getting Profiler to ignore the leading 0 but other users may have the same scanner as you and found a workround.

It's a denso-wave gt10b-su. I looked for software and only found drivers.

I don't have one of those, so can't help you myself but I did find the manufacturer's website which mentions a couple of software downloads which may help you.

most scanners can be programmed by scanning a series of barcodes to enable/disable different features. These features include transmitting the check digit or lead zeros.

At work we deal with metrologic a lot and they have a program that you can run, select the 'features' you want and print out a sheet with the barcodes to scan. It looks like denso-wave has a similar program on their site I believe you want the setup software
