Not a bad deal if you're not yet into the HD game, but it's not the best either. Nice deal, only problem is that neither of those two devices can bitstream HD Sound. I wonder why some people are caught up with bitstreaming. Decoding internally is the same thing. The only difference would be that it is a little louder via bitstreaming. The exact same information is decoded...bit for bit.
BTW, I think the BD starter set has decent titles. Well to be honest I am pretty happy when my receiver displays "DTS HD Master 5.1" and not just "Multichannel".
