Still a PS3 exclusive in Japan, where Microsoft needs a break-out game.

Also, Versus XIII is still PS3 exclusive.

It is a good thing for English speaking countries. It's bad for Micorosoft as they need this to get into the japanese market.

The other bad thing for Microsoft is, it'll be out about 6 months after the PS3 version, unless they (Square Enix) do a port.

I was going by this that I read at playstationlifestyle.net (Ended up there looking for info on the new PSP f/w update) and saw the link to thiis...

MS did a good job obtaining FFXIII.  Now, it probably won't be a major system seller for the PS3 or the X360.  I blame Square Enix for stating "only on Playstation 3" and going back on their word.  However, we do know that 3rd party exclusives are supposedly going extinct.  Proof of this is in the following exclusive titles MS has lost:

Since Sony's in-house development team is larger than MS and Nintendo combined, they don't need to pay hundreds of millions of dollars for exclusives.  Sony will just create new titles.  Plus, they still have the following that can't go multiplatform:

You are right.  Naughty Dog and Insomniac are 2nd party developers that share Sony in-house info back and forth on Cell programming.  Sony owns the titles though.

Sony bought the studio behind Motorstorm right after it went platinum.

I can hardly wait for a GoW, ICO, and/or a Shadow of the Colossus sequel either.

You are correct.  That one game you mentioned is not being developed by a Sony studio.

Just a little off topic note.. Sony announced today that they'll be conentrating on the 80 GB PS3 (but it won't have backwards compatibility) for $399. It's replacing the 40GB model that has been discontinued, at least in North America.
