| Posted: | | | | I noticed some people updating proflies changing single quote marks to real italics.
Is that correct? How is that being done? Are they using HTML or something?
The rules still say to use single quote marks for bold and italics. | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

I'm sure the rules will be updated soon to reflect this. |

| Posted: | | | | Well the rules really need to be updated to reflect this. As it stands now, people are voting against the rules. Not that I'm advocating that they shouldn't be updating the overviews, rather that the rules should be updated! | | | 99.9% of all cat plans consist only of "Step 1." |

I'm not sure how, but it probably uses HTML code (behind the scene). There are bold and italics buttons at the top of the Overview field. All you have to do is highlight the text you want to italicize (bold) and then click on the Italics (bold) button and the display changes to the actual format. You can also use Ctri-I (Ctrl-B) to do the same thing. Or, you can make changes in a word processor (like Word) and then cut and paste the edited text back into the Overview field. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. If you have access you can see in the Rules Committee Forum an announcement thread made by Ken where he already updated the rules... and asking for comments/opinions and such before he goes live with them. I am sure it will not be long at all (think within days.) before the new rules for 3.5 will be up. Until then Ken wanted us to test out contributions with the new 3.5 additions... which you could see in the beta forum I believe. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Anyone else noticing that, when removing single quotation marks and then italicizing the contents of parentheticals, it appears as if there is a space between the left parenthesis and the first italicized letter? One of my contributions was questioned as to the spacing, when in fact there was no space between the left parenthesis and the first italicized letter. Looking at my example below, the space is not as exaggerated as it is in the contribution. For some reason, with the contributions, there is more of an illusion of a space between the left parenthesis and the italicized "N".

| Posted: | | | | It's just a font issue. The right side of italicized text can be worse. It can look like no space is there at all.
Tell the questioner to copy the text in question into a text editor, he'll find normal spacing. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |
