I just moved PowerDVD to the computer with an LG GGC-H20L drive.

It will read disc IDs from DVDs fine, but when I insert a Blu-Ray it tells me that there is no disc in the drive. PowerDVD works fine reading the disk.

Running WinXP Pro SP2

Just to "close this case": Installing a UDF driver did the trick (got this hint in the German Profiler Forum). This seems to be necessary under Windows XP. I can now create Disc-IDs without problems.

locate UDF 2.5 Reader for Windows XP for your drive

That will work, but the only one I know of is the Toshiba driver with the hacked installer (so it will install without Toshiba hardware) and it's not intended as "free ware".

Unless there is another one I don't know about.

There is another answer out there.

I have the same drive and have no issues reading BD or HD discs.  I have Nero 8.x installed and perhaps that is what does it for me.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Could be, do you have the HD add-on?

I still have V7, when I tried to upgrade that Verified by Visa crap produced a bunch of errors and locked my card so I gave up.
