I am trying to restore my database and keep getting an error

Restore Aborted
The following error occured during the restore:
Data Error

I can go back to older backups and they work until I backup it up then they do not restore anymore. Has anyone else seen this or know of any issues?

Thanks
Art

after you restored your latest back-up? you do run 3.5.0 build 1240?

That would be my first question. Are you currently using DVD Profiler 3.5.0 build 1240 and attempting to restore a backup from a previous version of DVD Profiler? That, of course, will not work since they have different data sets and are not compatible.

Yes, I do run 3.50 build 1240, I restore a known good database and save it again with a new name, when I try to restore the new backup it will fail with those results. The original will restore fine all the time. I don't know if the repair will do anything since my current scheme is empty with no data as it all removed from the restore.

Giga, I just restored a good backup. Now if I back up this collection with the backup database option and try to restore it, it will fail. I am running XP Pro I have not had this problem until I updated to 3.5, build 1240 Can you please confirm to me that you can back up and restore succesfully with with this version. Now if you want me to run the repair utility now before I back thsi version up I will be glad to give it a shot.

Thanks

That's the wrong way round. You can of course restore an earlier backup version to the latest 1240 version. It's the other way round - restoring a 1240 version database to an earlier version of the program which won't work.
