| Posted: | | | | Real simple. The word "some" in rating details.... Connector that stays lower-case, or word that gets Capitalized? I've been seeing a lot of both lately and the rules aren't perfectly clear, so I take it to a poll. |

| Posted: | | | | The rule cites "joining words" which I think of as conjunctions. The word "some" is typically used as an adjective describing, for example, the amount of "Language" or "Drug Content" or "Violence" in a film. I feel it should be capitalized when used in writing out rating detail. |

| Posted: | | | | Personally I think that they should be written as per the DVD cover, and not via this capitalisation nonsense. To me the rating details on a DVD is apparent as a sentence written as prose. It is not a title, or a name so therefore should all be lower case except the first letter of the first word, which starts the sentence. Amending this frankly odd rlule would save on discussions like this and also prevent any ambiguity when it comes to contributions and submissions. I have seen a few 'no' votes tossed about when a user has submitted an update but has not captalised the rating details... I mean we take the Title, Edition, and Overview of the DVD straight from the cover, so why not the rating details? Crazy.
Anyway, rant over... just thought I'd put in my 5 pence worth. It's just that I can forsee many queries involving "what is an adjoining word" etc. which is sometimes still brought up when Titles are concerned, never mind rating details... | | | DVD Blu-Ray LastFM |

| Posted: | | | | I completely agree and can't understand why for English profiles we do it like that but for ALL other languages they can follow their capitalisation rules. Surely it should be the same for all. The only reason I can think of for this is that plenty of US releases have it formatted that way. I am one of those who has said no to "properly" formatted releases because of this rule but in most cases I did apologise in the vote. |

| Posted: | | | | Problem with the case rule is all too often they're in full caps, so we need to have something to cover that, and then we might as well just be consistent down the line. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

I am one of those who has said no to "properly" formatted releases because of this rule but in most cases I did apologise in the vote. Just to be clear, for other languages we follow their capitalisation rules "as commonly used for titles." That is what this rule is after for English profiles. The problem is, the rule isn't complete. These are the five general rules of capitalization: Always capitalize the first and last word no matter what. Capitalize all nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Remember, “it” is a pronoun. Do not capitalize articles, such as “a,” “an,” or “the” unless rule number 1 applies. Do not capitalize conjunctions (and, but, for, or). Do not capitalize the word “to” when it precedes a verb. The rules only mention the 4th one, which can cause problems. In addition, those rules only apply to American English. The rules for the UK, or Australia, or any other english speaking country are different. This also causes a problem. Bottom line, the rule needs to be changed. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
