I searched but couldn't find the answer as to why the DVD Profiler Online Collection adds the "Edition" to the title.

I use disk carousels to store only the title disks not the "bonus" disks and I don't want the edition on the title list since I loan the disks to friends and family and don't want to loan the extra disks or to even let them know I have them.  Just too much to keep up with it since I have grandkids that have a hard time returning them anyway.

In the past I just would change the "Edition" to none but I just used the update feature to update and it added them all back.  I probably should have locked "Editions" when I added each disk but it's too late now.

My question is there a way to change "Edition" back to "none" without doing it one by one OR some other way to stop "Editions" from showing up at all?  Re-editing each disk would be very time consuming for my collection which is in the hundreds.

Mark the editions as adult titles, and have your collection to show online as NO adult or X rating.. this way only you know what you have at home but the online data won't show that title in question.
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Yes, I have a backup but that brings up another question.  If I do the update then how would I stop it from updating the "edition" without locking that item for each disk?  Heck, I don't even know if I can lock that particular item.

Hey, aside from being old and senile, I'm lazy, that's why I've been using DVD Profiler for years.

I want the title disk to show up on the online disk, I just don't want the "edition" added to the title like the Online Profiler does.  I don't know why they have it programmed to add that to the title anyway.  It's not part of the title at all.

I'm doing something different for the few Blu-Ray disks I have since I don't loan them out.  I don't add any adult/porn type movies to DVD Profiler so your suggestion may be an easy option so they don't show up.  Thanks.

Edition is "part" of the title, if you lock the title it will not update.

Procedure:
Flag all titles: Collection, Flags, then Invert Flags,  Collection, Flagged, then Edit Locks - make sure a dark check mark for Title and click OK (button). Collection, Flags, than Unflag All

You might be able to use the BulkEdit plugin to remove the Edition from all of your titles.

I can't get it to lock all of them at once using your procedure for some reason.  It looks like I'm stuck with locking the titles one at a time.

Another question: Is there a way to update images, cast, and crew only instead of everything?  That is really what I want to update because some of my newer titles have no images, casts, or crew.  If that's possible then it wouldn't change the title and my problem is solved.

It depends on how much you use Locks on different profiles

Basically, if you don't:

Collection -> Flags -> Flag All filtered (assuming no filters on)
Collection -> Flagged -> Edit Locks

Lock everything except Images, Cast and Crew

Run an update

Remove all the locks you want to the same way (well, sort of the same way, you get the idea)

Of course this overwrites all your present locks which you may want to keep...

When I run the update I basically preview the chnages for each dvd and only apply the chnages I want (irrespective of the locks). so you could do that (instead of applying all the changes automatically).

Edit: removed the quote. Site is fixed and 8balMax's original post if fixed (thanks), but quotes are still broken. Just forgot to renew my domain and hosting licenses. The BulkEdit Plugin is here.

I'd tell you to use the BulkEdit plugin to remove the Edition from all of your titles but it appears that mediadogg's site is down. I get a message that this account has been suspended?

That's been fixed. Just forgot to renew my domain license. By the way, 8balMax, can you update that link? It actually points to the suspended message page, not the plugin. The BulkEdit Plugin is here.
