| Posted: | | | | Man i just found this tool, but unless im doing something wrong, cant get it to do what i want. I am trying to add a the location and slot to several dvds at once. Trying a little at a time. I am trying to add a location to say 10 titles at a time. I get a message saying, operation not allowed, maybe another way to do it. But if i select one cell in the location column and mulitples in the slot, it lets me do it. Am i doing something wrong here? |

Am i doing something wrong here? No, you got it right. In my (perhaps flawed) concept of the multi-copy tool, the only way I could figure out what was the source vs the targets, was to have the source cell in a different column. So, if you want to update a bunch of cells in the same column, just choose any cell in any other column as the source. At the time I did the code, I didn't know how to use the clipboard. Now I do, so someday I will make an upgrade that allows you to copy/paste from the clipboard into multiple cells. Sorry, hopefully you can live with the inconvenience until I do the upgrade. Oh, now I remember. Here is the real way to do it. Use the find/replace tool instead. You can even replace a blank field with that tool. It is pretty fast, and it will update all the cells in a column in one pass. You can even make it change multiple instances of the search string in a cell if needed (for example you wanted to make a bulk change to Notes - a certain repeated phrase, across multiple profiles at once.) Forgot about that one ... | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |
