There were some threads about the new German "Wendecovers" and i've read many opinions about this.

I thought it would be good to see clearly what your preferences are, so I start this thread. As this should be a help for what to contribute, it would be nice if just users are voting that buy German DVDs or BRs.

I hope the options of this poll can be understood. But still some explanations:
A. Like you see the DVDs, BRs in the shops
B. ... even if the EAN/UPC is missing
C. Front from inside (without rating logo) but cover must be in all other details exactly same. Back from outside (or inside if it's exactly the same)
D. Same as C., but inside can be a little different. (Missing BDlive logo, ...) [Major artwork has still to be same]
E. Saw this once or twice: Back cover from inside shows the new rating logo in a dimension it was before the new law. Otherwise use outside cover.

Thanks for voting.

Btw, you can use the thread for argueing ... ähm, wanted to say discussing,  what is or should be allowed, but the poll should show how you would like the covers in your collection/database.

My preference is D.

I like it, if you can see the artwork without the rating logo and I have no problem if some other small logos are missing. But back should be always with EAN/UPC to have a clear assignment to the profile.

I won't vote as I only have a couple of German releases (and none have these types of covers) but I have to see if this happened to UK releases I would still suggest using the cover with the BBFC certificate as that is how it would be in shops and also how it would be sent to your house by an e-tailer.

voted C, as it is clear and logical and already sanctioned by Ken

Personally and locally I will go for D, but that would open a whole new battlefield for submissions.

I agree.

This.
Personally I prefer D, but C is ok as well (and already sanctioned).

Hard to say, but well - this is my personal opinion:

I prefer the original distributed version (as seen in the salesrooms). If it contains a FSK Logo (AKA "Flatschn") ok! If not - even better.

I totally agree that the "Wendecover" without this Logo looks much better, but this is only a variation of the original Cover IMHO!

I voted C since it is apparently already sanctioned and ensures the thing that is most important to me: That these eyesores called FSK logos are eliminated from the front covers.

C. is what is sanctioned, but after looking better, there are often covers where some details are different:
Some things like missing BD Live logo, or studio logos, ...

Or something I noticed today the first time: The cover without FSK-Logo had on place where the FSK was a studio logo. So what doing with this? Is the studio logo on both sides and can't just be seen under the big rating logo?  Or is this also a difference that would make this contribution going again the rules?

The best solution would be the ability of contributing both versions!

C or D, don't really care as long as it's obvious that it's the same edition.

You're both right, but the logo is really big.   I think it often destroys the artwork and this is a pitty.

I see these awfully big logos as a kind of completely unecessary harassment and an insult to any DVD collector. So definitely prefer covers without them.

But what making this covers worse than just the rating logo: This logo with the Wendecover hint. This is really horrible.
