| Posted: | | | | Hi,
I've previously used BulkEdit with great success. Recently I've encountered the same problem on three computers. When I flag any number of profiles for editing and then attempt to load the flagged profiles in BulkEdit I see the following:
http://members.toast.net/jandjfrench/BulkEdit.jpg
Clicking on Details shows this:
http://members.toast.net/jandjfrench/Bulk%20Edit%20Error.txt
By selecting the fields desired and clicking Continue I get the message that the profiles are loading but that's as far as it goes.
The computers involved are two desktops running XP and one notebook running Vista.
I've gone through the obvious re-installs without success. I recently acquired the notebook and restored the database which indicates a possible problem with the database.
I now have 3200 profiles and think the number might also be the culprit. Before I attempt to reinvent the wheel I'm submitting this.

| Posted: | | | | Oh, I get it now. Didn't realize you were giving links ... What will be more useful for debugging is a small sample. Do an export of a few profiles that are causing you the problem in "Collection.xml" format, and give me a link to it so I can do some testing. Also, which version of Profiler and OS are you using? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! That displays the error message he's getting. And the txt file contains the Exception text. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | Hi,
I'll try to provide as much information as I can. I'm in kind of a fog as to how to proceed.
I get the same error message previously posted by trying to Load Flagged, Manual, Ordered or Wishlist.
If I flag any number of Profiles I get the same error. (Even 1)
I arbitrarily flagged six profiles and then Exported them to Collection.xml and tried to load them into Bulkedit and received the following: http://members.toast.net/jandjfrench/Collerror.jpg
Here's the XML: http://members.toast.net/jandjfrench/Collection.xml
I exported the same Profiles to CSV and when I tried to load them into BulkEdit got this: http://members.toast.net/jandjfrench/CSVerror.jpg
Here's the CSV: http://members.toast.net/jandjfrench/DVD.csv
- I'm using Profiler 3.5.1 Build 1252
- BulkEdit 1.24, but I've tried 1.25 on both desktops with no difference.
- Vista Home Premium SP2 on the Notebook
- XP SP3 on both desktops
On the note book I removed half of my collection and got the same error messages.
I've done a "Repair Profile Database" and "Cleaned the Images Directory"
I can't find any other problems with Profiler.
It seems as though it must be a database problem but I'm baffled as to what to do next.

| Posted: | | | | Hmmmm. I'm using 1.28 and it worked. I wouldn't be surprised if my muddle brain made me forget to uplaod the latest version. I'll do it now. If it works for you, I apologize for the delay in making these fixes public.
Ok, it's there now. I had actually uploaded it, but had forgotten to add the link. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | Worked like a charm!
Actually I haven't thoroughly checked it out but I flagged a few profiles, ran BulkEdit, selected a few fields and no problems at all. Thanks so much!
I keep my DVDs in binders and I replaced one and wanted to change the name (in Location) to a more descriptive one. I just checked and there are 189 profiles that would require individual editing without BulkEdit. I don't use it often but when I do it greatly simplifies an otherwise onerous task.
I'll advise of my results after editing; probably within a day or two. I thought I recalled using BulkEdit since there were any changes to BulkEdit or Profiler but I guess that's not the case.
Thanks again, Jim F. |

| Posted: | | | | Worked Great! 189 Profiles edited with just a few keystrokes and mouse clicks.
I use the plugin so infrequently that I'm never quite sure that I'm doing things right but I always seem to succeed. Now I just have to remember how to remove the edited tag. I know it's simple but it's just another thing that I have to play around with a bit.
This is such a nifty addition to Profiler that I'm surprised that others must not have found uses for it. I'm assuming the problems I experienced were not limited to just my computers.
Thanks again, Jim F. |
