I just moved my DVD Profiler to a different PC (backed up the db, restored ok). I do not have Internet connection, but I can usually add a DVD either manually or DVD Profiler already knows the title. However this time I got a message as soon as I selected Add DVD which said I must first download the online playlist (I think that was the message - obviously I have to go to a public Internet and I am not in front of my PC). I don't think I even got to the window where I could type in the title - I at least I don't recall that I did.
I thought there was a way to update the Profilier's DVD list offline, that is, can I download it separately then copy it to whatever appropriate folder?

Go to your old PC. Depending on your operationg system (XP or Vista/7) and language go to

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\DVD Profiler
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\DVD Profiler

Copy OnlineListSel.dod and OnlineList.dod.

Paste them into the same directory on your new computer.

I Hope it works!

Thanks, I'll give it a try this evening and let you know. And what about updating that list without an Internet connection? It's been about a year since I last had that PC connected online and updated DVD Profiler. I was hoping Invelos would provide 'offline' updates, much like my anti-virus and firewall provide files I can download to my USB drive and take home so I can update those.

Not that I'm aware of. This initial update contains only the most basic information anyway (UPC, title, locality). For everything else (i.e. a full profile) you'd need an internet connection again.

Bummer. Even with a relatively fast connection it seemed, in the past, to take a very, very long time to update. Oh well, the copying of those files worked for now. Thanks for that tip!
