| | Posted: | | | | What I need finally came to me: A "Rosetta Stone" of sorts for audio tracks.
This would consist of a short list of well researched DVDs that serve as a model for all the relevant tracks and also satisfy the following:
The profile for the DVD correctly lists the audio tracks in the correct sequence.
The profile pulldown selections ("Dolby Digital";"Dolby Surround") linked to the audio tracks have been "vetted" and agreed upon by skilled submitters.
With that, I need only play those titles with whatever player / program I have at my disposal and see how my program descriptions of the audio track relate to what has been previously established.
This is much easier than trying to decipher a list of audio tracks from a suspect profile where the the tracks are in the wrong sequence and don't match the information available from the artwork or the titling in the audio selection menu.
Anybody want to help me with this list? |

| | Posted: | | | | The agreed upon ones won't help with the ones that aren't. Generally, it pretty unambiguous. Occasionally, with Dolby Surround or the 6.1 matrixed formats, there´s a question as to whether it´s flagged incorrectly. There is really no easy way to tell. Sometimes, a mistake gets made. Also, PCM doesn't support matrixing flags, but sometimes matrixed tracks in PCM are released, such as on The Wall. |
