For Group names of the artist (such as English Chamber Choir, Journey, Yes), leave the Sort Title as is to sort on the Group name.
For Individual name of an artist (such as Eric Clapton, Bela Fleck, James Taylor), edit the Sort Title to use the Last Name of the artist at the beginning of the sort. For example, if the Title of the DVD is "Eric Clapton: Live at Hyde Park", then edit the Sort Title to "Clapton Eric: Live at Hyde Park".
This would put the Concert videos in the same correct sorting as you would normally file and search for them in your own collection. What do others think about this suggestion? Thanks for your response! |

As KinoNiki already said: the SortTitle is yours for the taking. It is initially filled with the Profile-Title minus any leading articles, see Sort Titlecya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

I did not realize that the Sort Title was a personal field until you pointed it out. What confused me is seeing it defined on the General Information page, and also seeing it in Personal Information.
I tried it, and was able to make a sort change to a DVD title without being prompted to contribute. And it sorted the title where I wanted it.
Thank you both much for your information and help! |
